David Smart
David Smart had a 35-year executive career in fund management, most of which was spent in senior roles at Franklin Templeton and Fiduciary Trust. He advised the pension fund of the United Nations for 28 years on global asset allocation and many of the world's Sovereign Funds and Central Banks.
Since 2016 he has been on the investment advisory committee of UNRWA. He was a Trustee of the National Trust for six years, chaired its Investment Committee for nine and is a Trustee of the Nostell Trust. Both roles reflect his great interest in conservation.
He serves as a Governor of the Health Foundation where he chairs the investment committee. He also advises Beazley plc on its investments and is on the board of Longview Partners. Married with four children, he splits his time between London and the East Sussex countryside.
