Writing cabinet designed by Charles Ashbee

Acquisition at auction of writing cabinet veneered in ebony and holly design by the arts and crafts movement architect C R Ashbee and made by the Guild of Handicraft in 1902. The cabinet is based on the Spanish 'Rarguero' with its sombre exterior opening to reveal a light and bright interior arrangement of drawers and pigeon holes.
