William Conor Collection of Paintings and Drawings

Acquisition of 1268 drawings and paintings by Belfast artist William Conor (1881-1968). The collection was left to the Linenhall Library in Belfast, which felt it necessary to sell them as they were not displayed and the Library needed funds to repair its roof. The mass of the drawings are pencil sketches, c. 15x10 cms. Some of the oil paintings are c. 75x60cm.
