Wellington Portuguese Service

Acquisition of ceremonial,silver-gilt table service c. 1811-13, known as the Portuguese Service, by Domingos Antonio de Sequeira (1768 - 1837), given to the Duke of Wellington, to glorify the Triple Alliance between Britain, Spain and Portugal and to celebrate their joint victories against France between 1808 and 1814. The V&A already owned the centrepiece. For display at Apsley House.
