Acquisition of watercolours of archaeological sites by Philip Crocker (b 1780) who was employed by Sir Richard Colt Hoare (1758-1838), the historian artist and patron of the arts and, some claim, the first modern archaeologist. Crocker's drawings record discoveries made by Hoare during excavations in barrows in Wiltshire and on Cranbourne Chase.
