Vanbrugh and Pearce, The Elton Hall Drawings

Acquisition of two volumes of 18th century architectural drawings by Sir John Vanbrugh and Sir Edward Lovett Pearce, from the Elton Hall library. The Elton Group consists of 259 drawings and a manuscript text. The larger volume contains 254 drawings by Vanburgh, Sir Edward Lovett Pearce, Nicholas Hawksmoor, etc. Drawings by Vanburgh include Eastbury Park (1718), and Grimsthorpe Castle (1722).
