Temple Meads Station, Bristol
Repairs to roof of Brunel's engineering centre at Temple Meads Station, Bristol. Brunel was the architect of the of the station buildings, built 1839-40, as well as being responsible for the laying of the track between London and Bristol. Designed in a Tudor revival style, the station is the earliest surviving major railway terminus. The train shed roof is timber, with a 72 foot clear space, the widest single span of the age.
