Tanks from the Budge Collection

Acquisition of two tanks. The Valentine and Vickers tanks were widely used in the desert war in North Africa, 1940-1943. The Vickers was a light reconnaissance tank, obsolete by the time it saw action (it was withdrawn from service soon after the desert war started) and the Valentine was produced from 1941 but was itself obsolete within a year of it reaching the front line. The British relied heavily on both tanks, even though they were no match for their German equivalent vehicles.
