South Sea Company Cup and Salver
A silver-gilt two-handled cup and cover, and salver with a detachable foot, made in London by Thomas Farren in 1715. The cup and its cover are decorated with cut-card work. The salver has a gadrooned border, the underside, which has applied cut-card work around the socket of the screw, is supported on a knopped foot. Both cup and salver are engraved with the arms of the South Sea Company. Cup and cover H27.9cm, W17.7, Wt 72.05oz; Salver on foot: H 10cm; W35.5cm; Wt 68.5oz.
