Self Portrait by Richard Bonington
Acquisition of self-portrait by Richard Parkes Bonington (1802- 1828) nearly half length and turned to front, his head resting on his right arm, a wide-brimmed hat on his head. Brush drawing in brown wash, touched with white, over graphite, on grey-brown paper. It was probably painted during the winter of 1825-26 when Bonington was sharing a studio with Delacroix.
