Romano-British Figurine of Mars

Acqusition at auction of a bronze figurine, 4.5 ins high, found by a farmer at North Bradley, Wiltshire. It dates from the 2nd-3rd centuries AD, and depicts Mars, or a local Celtic god associated with Mars, and was made by native craftsmen working to Celtic traditions, but with strong classical influences.
