Romanesque Enamel Plaques

Acquisition of three plaques in copper gilt and enamelled in champleve, showing King Alexander in a chariot pulled by griffins; a man riding a camel; and a man (perhaps Samson) grappling with a lion. 12th century, formerly owned by the Harding Rolls family and had been on loan to V&A for 60 years. Private treaty sale.
