Ravensroost Wood, Wiltshire
Acquisition of Ravensroost Wood: 8.9ha of ancient semi-natural woodland and 17.5ha of secondary woodland. The wood is designated SSSI. The woodland is a coppiced hazel woodland with pedunculate oak and ash standards. Interesting features include a wild service and small travel line. Supports a diverse woodland flora - 51 ancient woodland species - birch nest orchid, wood anemones and primrose, as well as 24 species of butterfly, Duke of Burgundy, silver-washed fritillary.
