Pugh Collection of Staffordshire Portrait Figures
A collection of 420 19th century Staffordshire earthenware portrait figures and related source material, ranging in date from c.1837-c.1900, and depicting many of the leading historical figures of the period. These include British and foreign royalty, politicians, naval and military figures, actors, criminals, etc. The collection was formed by Surgeon Rear Admiral PD Gordon Pugh, who also wrote the standard work on the subject "Staffordshire Portrait Figures of the Victorian Era."
