Portrait miniature of Lord Byron

Acquisition of miniature in watercolour on ivory, by an unidentified artist c 1805 (or 1818?); subject with curled hair and blue-grey eyes, h.s. 3/4 profile to right wearing black jacket and waistcoat over white shirt, the high collar secured with a black tie and gold jewel; verso bears inscription on paper by August Byron Leigh: "This miniature of my poor brother was the last taken and sent to me on my birthday." In case covered in red calf, the front stamped in gold "Lord Byron", with traces of red sealing was; gold frame look and incomplete, glass loose. (6.2x5c rectangular, without frame)
