Pegsdon Hills, Bedfordshire

Acquisition of approximately 200 acres of land within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Site included 63 acres of species-rich chalk grassland and scrub which forms part of the Deacon Hill Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), together with 100 acres of former arable land which has now been reverted back to grassland. Additional land included 10 acres of woodland/grassland in neighbouring Hertfordshire and several acres of County Wildlife Site (CWS) status grassland and scrub.
