New Lanark Institute for the Formation of Character

Repairs to the Institute for the Formation of Character at new Lanark, built by Robert Owen in 1816. it is located in the central square of the World Heritage Site, cotton spinning, historic village of New Lanark. It was the community and education centre for the village and represented a key element of Robert Owen's rational view of society. It became derelict in the 1980's and is now the main tourist/visitor centre entrance.
