Middleton Down, Wiltshire

Acquisition of 63.5 acre site known as Middleton Down near Broad Chalke, Wiltshire.It is part of an SSSI and grade I nature conservation review site, and consists of 2 chalk downland combes running NE to SW and a connecting NE-facing scarp. The flora is rich and includes dwarf-sedge and early gentian, and the site is important for butterflies, in particular the Adoni Blue.
