Lotus 49 Racing Car, Chassis R3

Acquisition of the only surviving as-original member of the four 1967 Lotus 49 Racing Cars. They were the car in which the legendary Cosworth-Ford engine made its racing debut. Lotus won the 1968 championship with the type 49s and continued to win for the next two years. It was this season, with Graham Hill and Jim Clark as drivers, that will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the golden ages of motor racing. The 'R3' finally ended up in Japan in 1984, from where it was purchased by the National Motor Museum.
