Ledmore and Migdale Woodlands, Highlands
Acquisition of an estate on the northern banks of the Dornoch Firth near Spinningdale in the Highlands of Scotland. The area covers 710 hectares and three different habitats, each designated an SSSI. Ledmore Wood is the largest natural oak wood in the north east of Scotland, covering 95 hectares and is a Nature Conservation Review site. Migdale Rock, also an NCR site, comprises 144 hectares of native Caledonian pinewood. The third habitat is Spinningdal Bog, comprising 29 hectares, the largest remaining valley bog in the north eat of Scotland. The estate also falls within a National Scenic Area.
