Lancaster Bomber

Acquisition for restoration and display of a Lancaster bomber, the most numerous and successful of the three British designed heavy bombers of the Second World War. Altogether 7,377 were built and by March 1945 no less than 56 RAF squadrons were equipped with the aircraft. Only four have survived in the UK. IWM wished to purchase a disassembled Lancaster for restoration and eventual display at Duxford.
