Kedleston Hall: Old Man's Head by Ferdinand Bol

Acquisition of painting that had been sold from Kedleston in 1936 as a Rembrandt. It appeared on the market in 1986, was sold at auction as Rembrandt, but subsequently reattributed to Ferdinand Bol, a follower of Rembrandt. NHMF acquired the painting after the sale for £65,000 with the intention of returning it to Kedleston. (1986-87 Annual Report)
