Holcroft Moss, Cheshire

Acquisition of 44 acres of uncut mossland or bog, lying next to the M62 motorway near the village of Glazebrook. It supports 17 species of moss, seven species of liverwort, two types of heather and, in the damper areas, cotton grass. Several of the plant species had been considered extinct prior to their identification at this site.
