Glaslyn, Powys Application 1
Acquisition of 160 hectares of heather moorland for management as a nature reserve. Grade II, SSSI. The Plynlimon massif in central Wales is a wild area of mountain sheep walk and great scenic beauty. 'Glaslyn' is the name given to an area of 395 acres on the northern part of the Plynlimon which was being sold on its owners' retirement from farming and was destined for afforestation or clearance of the ancient heather moorland. The site was acquired by the Montgomery Trust for management as a nature reserve.
