Gainsborough Letter

Acquisition of letter written by Thomas Gainsborough to his close friend and attorney, James Unwin, dated 15 September 1753. In this letter Gainsborough refers to his illness and treatment by Dr Rice-Charleton (physician to Bath General Hospital 1757-1781). Holborn Museum owns a full-length portrait of Dr Charleton by Gainsborough.
