Acquisition of Frith Wood an SSSI and within the Cotswold's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It comprises 24 hectares of ancient beech wood, with unimproved grassland and including Frith Quarry, a nationally important site for geological research into the Jurassic limestone of the western Cotswolds.. The rich density of plant and animal life make Frith Wood a fine example of ancient woodland. The wood is crossed by a number of well used paths, and its location on the hilltop between Stroud and Painswick makes it a very popular walk.
