Fire Grate by Pierre-Philippe Thomire

Acquisition at auction of ornamental French neo-classical fire grate signed by one of the most celebrated French bronziers, Pierre-Philippe Thomire, and dated 1788. The provenance of the grate suggests that it was commissioned for the music room at Powderham Castle.
