Cressing Temple, Nr Witham

Acquisition of the Cressing Temple site which comprises a farm house and associated farm buildings, the most notable of which are the 13th century Barley and Wheat Barns, which were built by the Knights Templar, who owned the manor from 1137-1312. These two barns, together with the nearby Grange Barn at Coggeshall, are the largest early timber framed buildings in Western Europe and are of unequalled national and international importance.
