Countess of Huntingdon Free Church, Deansway, Worcester

Acquisition of the Countess of Huntingdon's Free Church in Deansway, Worcester. It was built in 1804 as a product of the Countess of Huntingdon's involvement in the non-conformist movement. She was converted to Methodism in 1739, and used the ample means left by her husband on his death to build chapels up and down the country, and to install ministers to officiate. This chapel was purchased by Worcester City Council following an unsuccessful application by its owner for its demolition. It was then handed over to the City of Worcester Preservation Trust Ltd for repair and conversion to a concert hall.
