Cosway Salt

Acquisition of a silver-gilt salt made in London in 1584-85. Made in three sections: 1. hollow body on horse-shaped feet. 2. shallow recess for salt. 3. finial with warrior. Embossed and engraved ornament. Maker's mark: a vase; date letter G for London 1548-5.
