Acquisition of further papers from Melbourne Hall. These are principally the papers of Sir Thomas Coke (1674-1727), Vice-Chamberlain of the Royal Household. His correspondence covers not only his personal, parliamentary and family affairs, but also provides a running commentary on the innumerable aspects of contemporary life at court, in London government circles and in the country.
