Christopher Dresser Teapot

Acquisition of prototype electroplated teapot designed by Dr Christopher Dresser (1834-1904) and made in 1879 by James Dixon and Sons of Sheffield. Drum-shaped with a hinged cover, an angular spout, an ebonised rod handle and six peg feet. The teapot may have been made for the purposes of 'costing' as it appears in the Dixon's Costing Book of 1879.
