Acquisition of a marble bust of General Eyre Coote (1726-1783), Commander-in-chief of the Army in India, 1779. Bust-length portrait in armour, with a cloak over his left shoulder and the star of a KB pinned to his breast. By the sculptor Joseph Nolleken (1737-1823), signed and dated verso, and on the original socle, 1779.
