Berney Arms Reserve, Halvergate Marshes, Norfolk Broads

Acquisition of nearly 300 acres of unimproved grazing marsh. Berney Marshes RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds) nature reserve, forms part of the Halvergate Marshes SSSI (Sites of Special Scientific Interest) and is situated within the Norfolk Broads ESA. The first area of land at the reserve was purchased in 1986 and the NHMF £100,000 funding helped to purchase a further extension to this area in 1987/88.
