Beamish Colliery Buildings

Restoration of an ashlar colliery winding dating from 1855, and a timber hempstead to which the tubs of coal were wound from the pit botton for weighing and unloading. Both buildings were moved to an open air museum site. The structures were repaired to enable better public access.
