Basil Bunting Collection

Acquisition of a collection relating to the poet Basil Bunting (1900-1985), born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The collection formed by Bunting's biographer, Roger Guedalla, contains all his published works, manuscripts, correspondence and other papers, and sound recordings of Bunting reading his own and others' poetry. Considered to be the most complete Bunting collection in existence, the material is to form the basis of a Basil Bunting Poetry Archive at Durham University.
