Album of Watercolours of Birds by Sarah Stone

Acquisition of an album of 175 watercolour drawings of birds made by Sarah Stone (1760-1844) that provide an important visual record of bird specimens held in collections in England in the eighteen century. The album is a contemporary volume but the drawings were not added to it until the 1980s by the previous owner but one.
