Abinger Papers of the Shelley Family

Acquisition of the Abinger Papers of the Shelley Family, comprising one-third of the Shelley Family's archive, including the correspondence and papers of Mary Shelley; journals including working drafts and a fair copy of her novel 'Frankenstein'. Although privately-owned, it had been held at the Bodleian Library, University of Oxford, for many years together with the Boscombe Collection of Shelley family papers, which was donated to the library.
