Acquisition of tapestry - The Knights of the Round Table Summoned to the Quest by the Strange Damsel, Designed by Edward Burne-Jones, William Morris and J H Dearle for Morris & Co., from 1890. This version woven for George McCulloch, 1898-99. Wool, silk, mohair and camel hair weft, on cotton warp. This is the first subject in the narrative series; The Holy Grail Tapestries, which recount the search for the Holy Grail by the knights of the Round Table. It depicts King Arthur and the knights seated around the table, and the damsel, dismounted from her horse, summoning them to embark upon the Quest.
