Set of Voysey Furniture

Acquisition of collection of 7 items of furniture designed by the arts and crafts movement architect C F A Voysey (1857-1941) for William Ward Higgs between 1883 and about 1903. All the pieces were made in unpolished oak for the London house of Ward Higgs, a solicitor. They include the 'swan' chair made about 1896 and the Kelmscott 'Chaucer' cabinet of 1896.
