Acquisition for management as a nature reserve of the 5 mile long shingle spit comprising 1500 acres of shingle and salt marsh and derelict MOD building. Grade 1 SSSI, Ramsar, SPA and SAC. Grant included funds for a comprehensive post-acquisition survey.
