The Paxton Trust: Chippendale Furniture Acquisition

Thomas Chippendale and his firm of cabinet makers were commissioned to fully furnish Paxton House in the 18th century. This table is believed to have been part of that original commission. Ordered as part of the dining room suite in the 1770s, as a tea or work table, it is a key item in the repertoire of Thomas Chippendale the elder.
